The Kaigelu 356 is a great little pen and is the size of several other Chinese pens that emulate the much higher priced Sonnet. The pen is a reasonable weight, not a lightweight full plastic but is metal without the heft that some full metal pens can have. The barrel is a matte blue that is somewhat dark but very stylish and not ostentatious. The section is a black plastic that feels good to hold without being slippery. The section unscrews to reveal a branded converter and it will accept standard international cartridges. There is nothing fancy about the nib, it is branded with the namesake of the company, a kangaroo. It caps easily with a push and uncaps quite easily. With the plethora of pens of this size out there, this one does stand above the general pack in sheer quality and value. It's an elegant pen without pretensions at an extremely affordable price that writes quite well without any tinkering required. It is a great value for a well made all purpose pen for work or general use at home and well worth considering.Read full review

After watching Hyundai run circles around Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, and Audi, It was easy to take a tiny risk on this boomerang. Over the past 30 years I've paid $18 for a fountain pen and once $1150. I've seen many expensive pens that were garbage and several pens below $40 that were awesome. This boomerang writes beautifully without skipping, flows perfectly and doesn't dry out easily, even when left uncapped for half an hour. The designers deserve a medal. Mont Blanc is newspaper-stand garbage. This pen will reward you for owning it.

Let me start by saying I am already a Kaigelu fan because they write reliably and wet. This 356 was no different. The nib is the standard Kaigelu - good, but added to that is a restrained design in a delightfully finely textured matte royal blue. The clip is more minimalist and not the logo bearing fare of my other Kaigelus. I think it is a marvellously simple and timeless design. Maybe my daily pen, but it is up against other pens which no greater nevertheless make for the variety that leads to a point where I select it from my set and say, today that's exactly what I want.

Very Smooth Nib is slightly on the soft side just perfect. Balance well in hand. Compare to the Pelican Celebrity its one has the slight feedback that I like. This pen is less than 1/10 the price of the Pelican. The body finish is nice feels like the Pilot Metropolitan, provide perfect fraction between fingers.
