This book is a great reference for German aviation development from the beginning up to the present. Ever wondered what happened with German aircraft manufacturing after the war? This book continues with developments during and after the occupation of Germany. Contrary to what many may think, the aerospace industry kept going after the conflict. In fact, the Luftwaffe was not disbanded until 1946 and Germany participated in many projects with the U.K., Italy, France and others. Germany also continued aircraft development of their own. The only drawback to this book is the exclusion of civil aviation. It is worth getting just to know what has been going on.
This book explains the history of Germany's aircraft from their first prototypes prior to WWI to the Luftwaffe. It is amazingly detailed. It's mostly filled with black and white photos with excellent descriptions. It would make a thoughtful gift for anyone interested in airplanes, Germany or War.
