I needed to purchase some new make-up. I chose to get my new make-up on line because I found many instances where the same make-up would have cost much more, had I bought it in a local store. It was not Maybelline Superstay Mascara that I bought. It was the same brand and type, but it was lipsticks that I purchased. I bought two colors. I am fair-skinned with light brown hair, so both colors were bought to go with my features. These lipsticks are beautiful shades. One being a medium pink (#720), which looks lighter once it is applied to your lips. The other lipstick is named, Raspberry (#705). Both of these colors look very nice on me. They have a very nice shine to them, which moisturizes my lips, while making me look better. I have not had an occasion to wear them all day long, so I cannot give an accurate answer as to their staying power. Consequently, I have no negative comments about these lipsticks.Read full review
The shade of Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor I got was very pretty, lasted all day and still had color on my lips all that evening. There were no smears and no worry of lipstick on the teeth. The shine can be refreshed by using the separate clear gloss stick if you like. When time came to take it off for the night I used a separate wipe-off cleanser to get it all off. I noticed my lips seemed dry the next day and had to use lip balm several times over the next 2 days. So to me it's a trade-off. If you want staying power for a special occasion, then I'd recommend it. For everyday use...no, unless they reformulate and put some better lip protectants and less drying ingredients in it.
I like this product! I can put on lipcolor in the morning, touch up after lunch, and still be wearing it at dinner! The tricks are to put it on DRY lips; let the color dry thoroughly (keep your lips apart) and slather regularly with the lipstick shaped balm on the other end. Neither hot nor cold drinks seem to affect it, same with soup, or salad. Crunchy foods will begin to scrape little bits off. If you do not apply the balm, it peels off not unlike nail polish. There will still be some left on your lips the next morning. If you want to remove it, I use glycerin based lotion and a tissue. Okay, it's annoying to sit there waiting for your lips to dry. The part that does not come in contact with saliva stays true color; the farther back towards the mouth, the more it tends to peel. I like Revlon's version better; there is a brush to apply an oil; it seems to stay in place longer, but both are good products.Read full review
Just wore this mascara for the first time today. So far, I am very favorably impressed. The mascara went on easily, and only two coats made my lashes look longer, more dense and very shiny. Went swimming, and the mascara was still intact, looking just as though it were just applied. Even my husband commented that my eyes looked beautiful; that kind of comment is worth its weight in gold! The mascara lasted the entire day, with only the original application. Other mascaras required occasional touch-ups; this one seems to out-perform the ones I've used in the past, and I've used a great variety, from those sold at the drug store to those from the finest, upscale department stores, to salon mascara. I shall be using this one, going forward. Excellent product, readily available, easy to use, outstanding results, and long lasting! What more could one ask of a water-proof mascara? Although it has chemicals in it that I should not be using, I like the semi-permanent effect. It really does stay most of the day. I use the red but that is not my color. So I use a cream lipstick over it to mute it a bit. I tried permanent lipstick years ago and it dried my lips out so badly that they chapped for weeks. This is not drying at all, surprisingly. It is great for events like weddings where you want your lipstick to stay all day. I did try it with the gloss and it sparkles on the lips. Great item and lasts a while as you need so little - it is a stain but does come off with some pressure or a touch of soap. I purchased it because my cream did not stay and was too muted. The two paired together are really pretty. I happily recommend it.
