1921 is the last year in which the Mint struck Morgan Silver Dollars. The coins were struck from the large and famous Nevada Silver discovery, the Comstock Lode.
The 1921-D Morgan Dollar is also the only Morgan Silver Dollar that was struck at the Denver Mint. Despite being the last year of the Morgan Dollar it is also the only year in which you can obtain an example from each three different Mints. Which are the 1921 Philadephia, Denver and San Francisco Morgan Dollars.
The Morgan dollar was minted in Denver one year only in 1921. The number minted that year in Denver was 20,345,000. The Morgan dollar consists of 90% Silver and 10% Copper and weighs 26.73 grams. Based on the price of Silver and Copper on December 8, 2015 the Morgan dollar melt down value is $10.9443. This is the price that coin dealers consider when buying or selling coins. The true value of the coin depends on the collectible value for the person adding to their coin collection. There are still a lot of Morgan dollars out there in the coin world and the value will continue to go up and down just like an elevator. Just depends on how much the collector wants to pay.

The 1921-D, as with the 1921-S Morgan Silver Dollar in Mint State 64 and higher condition is a rarity. These coins in all white sharply struck condition become even rarer. All of the millions of 1921-D Morgans were struck on shallow relief dies and many were melted during WWII. What makes the 1921-D Morgan unique is the fact that it was the only Morgan dollar produced out of the Denver mint. If you can find (and there are not many out there) a nicely struck all white Gem 1921-D certified PCGS or NGC MS 64 Morgan dollar in the $140 price range on eBay, buy it. The price of the 1921-D MS 64 and higher Morgan dollar will definitely escalate in the near future.
Some silver dug from Nevada's blockbuster Comstock mine by REAL Americans was smelted and re-minted in the Denver Mint, sending a message that hard currency from the West is tender that retains it's value.

my collection of coins allow me to travel back to a period of time in our history. I enjoy this coin regardless of the rise and fall of the price of silver. I will be proud to pass down these coins to my family after I am gone.
