Great Power Supply for commercial 8 hour a day use.
I install G Gauge trains in Restaurants, Doctor's Offices, Museum's, etc. For several years I used a MRC-20 Power Supply, but switched to this one when it became available. I have now 5 of these running 5 to 8 hours a day, the oldest is 2 years old, and have had no problems. Light weight, and no heat build up. The LED display is great. I would only change one thing. Now, the track power and the accessories power connections are too close together, I prefer a large screw type power connection, spaced apart. The tiny screw holding in the power wire's to a green plug-in could be improved. Not strong enough t hold in the wire's. I highly recommend this power supply, which now has a wired remote as an option, just as the old MRC-20 had. I am not sure if the train transformer is Entertaining. A Great Power Supply
I have a small G Gauge train sales, service and consulting business. I install overhead G Gauge track/train systems for commercial customers. Such as restaurants, Doctor's Office's, etc. These trains run up to 8 hours a day or more. I have installed 3 of these Throttlepack 9950's, over the past 2 years, and not one has given me any problem. They are easy for the "non-train person" to operate, and turn on and off. I also help customers design their Garden Railroads, and sell them their trains, track, power supplies etc. This is the power supply I urge them to purchase, when they order their track and trains from me. Before this power supply was available, I purchased the 10 Amp, MRC-20's for my customers. I can say that these also worked well, but at times I had a few overheat, from many hours of use. Not Even Close to being good
So i was extremely excited to buy this power pack for my g scale trains, the problem is that it does not work well with anything that has DCC to some type of wireless, It works wonderful on old fashioned engines but the lgb decoders throw everything off. I have a WP&YRR Alco Engine and it runs Beautiful, but on my LGB Moguls with MTS system and Sound i have to turn the controller up to 3/4 throttle to start and then back it down rite away, also i can't get a good slow speed after the start up. Wish i could Send it back But i doubt they would let me.

i IT IS A EXCELLANT TOP OF LINE PRODUCT. MY NSCALE LAYOUT IS FAIRLY LARGE AND THIS POWERPACK HAS POWER TO SPARE. MY LOCOMOTI9VES DO NOT STALL IN PLACES THEY USED TOO AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO RUN MY LOCOS SO SLOWLY. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT UNIT FOR WHAT EVER SCALE YOU OPERATE.
