This is an awesome little device. All the functions you need in a phone and mp3 player. Especially for the price, compared to owning both seperatley. Although, like usual, there are few features that could be tweaked. For instance; when you use random on the mp3, it doesn't do a great job of remembering which ones you've heard. Some days you'll never hear the same ones, some days you hear a couple of songs a couple of times. But you can always hit next so that's not a huge deal. When I first recieved the phone I was immediatley reminded of the RAZR with it's size and style. And it basically is the same only upgraded exterior and speedier interfacing. I am disappointed in the toughness of the phone. It is a little flimsy, and if you left it open and stepped or sat or whatever, you would probably break it. But that's what insurance is for! I am also pretty hard on phones so this may not apply to you. I decided to buy the LG Choco 3 because of its dual pupose and my active lifestyle. Very convienent and more affordable than buying a new phone and a new IPOD plus song prices.Read full review
I love the Android OS, there is so much to do! You need a Google account, which is pretty nice because it really personalizes your phone. I found the battery life to be good. I don't have problems with lagging like other people claim. I might just have lower standards. The things I don't like: the phone is a bit bulky by today's standards. I bought a case at a Verizon store and the clasps broke the first time I took it off. The screen is vivid, but not easily discernible in bright light. I don't know if this is to blame on the phone, but my reception is not great. I previously owned a Palm Pixi and it got reception almost everywhere (same network and everything), but my Ally drops calls in the same places. Overall, this is a good phone. I've owned it for two weeks and haven't had any major problems at all. It restarts promptly and has a lot of sweet features. I would call it a clunkier version of a Droid.Read full review
Like: Android OS with full QWERTY keyboard. Touchscreen front with convenience of keyboard for typing. Awesome free apps in Android Market. Size is good (not too big/heavy). Solid phone (doesn't feel like if I were to drop it once it would break) and I love having a few physical keys on the front (it's not all touchscreen). Dislike: Phone is somewhat slow (it takes a while to switch apps, for example). Opening camera is slow, so if you are someone who takes a lot of photos and wants the camera to open up super-fast to be ready for a photo any time, I would suggest spending more for a newer/faster phone. Also, I switched from a Blackberry where I had 6 different email accounts... and on Android the email is WAY different. I was able to get used to it pretty fast, but it was a big adjustment, so be prepared. Overall, I do really like the Ally and would recommend it!!Read full review
After two disastrous experiences with Verizon "smart" phones, I wanted to go back to a simpler phone for awhile. Scrolling functions and touch screens were giving me a migraine, mainly because they weren't working well. In frustration, I sought out a flip phone that was functional and nice looking. I found what I was looking for in the LG Chocolate 3. The phone is attractive to look at, holds a charge very well, and so far, I haven't had any problems with any of it's functions. The camera is just okay, and the reception is not the best, but it far surpasses any of the phones I have had recently before it, so I give it a good rating. I haven't tried out any of the music functions on the phone yet, and if that were to work, I might give it an excellent rating. If you want a phone that looks updated but has all the reliability of an old school phone, I would definitely recommend this one!Read full review
This phone is very nice and unique. It is well made, the battery is decent and the screen is beautiful. The features are great as well, add the memory card you have a 1st class deal. However, I found using this phone awkward at times because of the rotating screen. It is strange dialing and using for everyday use sometimes but is still nice for texting messaging compared to other standard phones. The rotating screen would be much less of an issue if I had constant access to mobile tv like I used to when I travelled more. Now I am at home more and I have no access to the service so the phone became a little annoying.
