I'm a professional photographer, and I've used a number of tripods but this is the best I've ever used for several reasons: 1) It's heavy duty enough to handle over 10 lbs (4 kg) with the right tripod head (I recommend the 3047) yet it's still relatively lightweight. 2) The legs are independently adjustable, unlike the type that connect the legs to the center post. You can spread out the legs almost flat. Or each leg can be a different angle, useful for stairs or uneven ground. 3) The center post is in two parts, and you can remove the bottom half, allowing you to have the camera 6 inches off the ground. I use this a lot when photographing babies on the ground. 5) If you need to get your camera even closer to the ground, you can reverse the center column and mount your camera upside down.Read full review
The product, the seller and the purchase experience were top notch. The tripod is even better than described. I just got a my first DSLR and wanted a high quality, but affordable tripod to help learn how to use the camera properly. This purchase fit the bill perfectly. It's sturdy, easy to use and transportable (albeit a bit heavy for longer journeys). It's everything I had read in the many reviews I looked at before deciding what to buy. And I feel the purchase price gave me great value.
This is a serious tripod. The head is very high quality and the legs classic, stable and proven for decades by pros. I upgraded from point and shoot to a DSLR and tried a bunch of general purpose tripods and sent them all back. A new Manfrotto is big bucks so this was perfect. It needs a pouch if I'm going to carry it very far but mostly I take family shots at birthdays, etc. Excellent product.

I purchased this tripod for it's parts. Some of the parts on my original Bogen 3021 that I purchased new in 1987 wore out after 30 years of hard use. I have considered replacing it many times over the years with something lighter or smaller. But I always realize I would have to compromise somewhere with the new purchase. Either with significant cost or severe loss of stability. So I was both too cheap and was unwilling to buy anything less stable. This tripod is an absolute bargain for what it cost used. It's not a light tripod, nor is it small. It's is however small and light enough for most things, yet sturdy enough for just about any modern camera and lens combo. I have a small light tripod that I never use, a Bogen 3021 and a massive Bogen 3058. The 3021 is my go too for the majority of my tripod use.Read full review

This tripod and head are very stable. All connections seem sturdy and well made. This should last many years. It is a heavy item though. Not a lightweight or hiking tripod by any stretch but for most applications an excellent solution.
