I bought this cookbook because of the reputation of the chef and I have had the priveledge of eating in his restaurant in Washington, DC, where I also live. The text is concise and most of the ingredients are not difficult to find. However, this book is not for the beginner cook. Michel tells the reader what kitchen tools and gadgets are necessary beforehand to make the various dishes.

I bought this because having been to Michel's restaurants and most of the restaurants of noted tv chefs - Michel Richard is still my favorite chef. This book and the delicious recipes that I have made from this book confirms his exquisite palate and creativity. He is still my favorite chef.
