John Wayne is most know for his Westerns. These nine are Westerns but all different in some way or another. Yes John gets shot comes to the rescue saves the day. There is tension at the shoot out with James Stewart in 'Liberty Valance' and where John uses the 'pilgrim' term many times. The drama in 'Big Jake' and the battle of wits with Richard Boone for his grandson's safety and life. There is the comedy of 'McLintock with his wife Maureen O'Hara. My favorite is 'The Shootist' full of drama and tension with an aging dying gunfighter looking to go out in a blaze of glory and his soft side with the lady Lauren Bacall he is lodging with. I did not care much for 'True Grit' even though that is what John won the Oscar for. If you like John Wayne you will like these. I was looking for a set that had individual movies on separate discs, and found it ! I found other movie sets but on 3 discs instead of six ! I believe that even though the movies are well taken care of, they will last longer being in their own separate cases ! I prefer widescreen instead of full ! This set contains all widescreen but one, which is acceptable !

This is seven of the Duke's western movies, and they're all great for John Wayne fans. The boxed set was new and unwrapped. The shipment arrived right on schedule, which was terrific considering the USPS was in the middle of the Christmas rush. Definitely well worth the price.
