I had a red one for a long time which ended up being a very good wired substitute for an authentic controller when some adjustments to a game and some personal feel is adjusted in sensitivity. When it broke after years of loving use, I bought this black one as a replacement. Unfortunately this one has a faulty L1 button fresh out of it's package, which makes aiming down the sights difficult in shooter games as extra pressure and holding down on the button at the wrong angle makes it fail to register as a hold. Fortunately many of them allow me to swap to using L2+R2 instead but it's still annoying to have to change years worth of muscle memory for this fault. I don't know if my red one was a lucky purchase or if this new black one was simply a fluke in quality but I only can recommend this if you have had prior experience with this controller brand or can tolerate a flaw. For the price? It's not bad either way and I kept it still personally. I'd even consider buying at least one more for two player activities.Read full review

We have only used one of two controllers that we purchased, and at first when you see and use it, it looks awesome, feels good in your hands to play, and works great. After about two weeks, one of the buttons started to stick and eventually(days later) stopped working, I haven't taken the time to pull it apart and check it out electronically as of yet, but even for an inexpensive controller, you would think that there wouldn't be any problems after two weeks.

The logo in the center of the controller gets scratched too easily... That shouldn't matter though, the toggle bases are very smooth and shiny, and the thumb stick grips don't look like they're going anywhere for quite a while. They should make a wireless just as affordable because it's a good brand and PS3 is last gen anyway so I'd definitely buy one.

I feel compelled to write this review, because there are probably tons of gamers like myself looking for a 3rd party PS3 controller that works. This is the closest you are gonna get to an actual Playstation controller. I've had 3 different 3rd party controllers, and the Snakebyte is the best of all of them by far. Pros: Responsive, buttons work great, rumble function works well. Cons: Doesn't turn on the PS3, wired connection. If the original playstation controller is a 5 star controller, the Snakebyte is definitely a 4 star. Responsive, tough, cheap, and easily available. I bought 2 of them(both new), and I can now play all my old school PS3 games. Woo-hoo!

this product is extremely lightweight and very durable. there are some PlayStation 3 controllers that are heavy, but this controller is one of the few that are lightweight which means it can be held for a extended period of time
