Sailor is one of the big three in fountain pen making in Japan. While the sky is the limit for their high-end pens, the High Ace Neo - one model up from the most basic model - is still a very attractive pen to own and to use. As the Japanese market prefers a relatively dry-writing extra-fine nib, the famous Sailor F-4 nib certainly delivers, giving a precise fine line on paper with just the right amount of feedback. With Sailor's famous attention to details, the plastic moldings and metal parts are all very nicely done, and it looks a lot more expensive than its appearance would suggest. The only part showing a hint of cost-cutting is the cap finial which shows some tool marks from the lathe, if examined carefully. If required, the pen and converter can be taken apart completely for thorough cleaning, which is an appealing and important attribute to some users. But it is a nice tool for writing for the beginner and the confirmed user. Recommended!Read full review

Nice looking and just enough feedback to improve ones penmanship. I have not yet tried this pen in my daily rotation because it lacks size and weight. Also, it's inability to be used as an eye dropper factors into that. Still, it's a very nice pen to have in my collection.
