For anyone who loves to doodle or do any type of serious cartooning...this book is the one you need. Even the person who says he/she can't draw a straight line will be highly impressed with the tricks of the trade which the author/artist,Christopher Hart, devulges within the pages of this "how-to" book. Moreover, the author has broken the book down into short, easy to digest chapters. These chapters cover everything from the "basics", to development of a character, costuming & props, etc.... In the end, anyone following the step by step examples will learn quickly how to visually tell a joke.
I found the visual demonstrations very helpful. The is a lot of expressions/body language examples. Action motions and shadows direction is also covered. I reread this book often, and highly recommend it for beginners as well as a reference resource.
