This book is an excellent way to learn new stitches and also provide you with some inspiration. Ann Benson has an awesome way of explaining how to do certain stitches where even a beginner can understand. I have bought numerous books but this one is def. one of my favorites. Ann Benson also has a website that you can check out as well and I believe she still sells kits there too. I have been beading/weaving for a little over a year and with the help of good friends/great sellers like GRDFXLDY, and awesome books like this one, I've become quite good ( If i say so myself lol). One word of advise though, don't start out with the peyote stitch, work your way up to that one lol ( wish someone would of told me that LOL) Okay, well I am always looking for folks to swap patterns with, if you have any give me a shout, I'm not really into stringing because anyone can string a bead on a piece of wire, Im into weaving of stitches, so if you have any patterns you would like to share/swap, let me know. Okay, to finish up, this book is great, easy to read and follow along with. You should have some knowledge of beadweaving probably but then again maybe I'm wrong there, who knows, it is a great book and that's what counts here. Okay, thank you and have a nice day :-)Read full review
The title is what caught my attention. It leads to be able to bead weave with a loom and that is interesting to me. The picture on the cover shows beautiful pieces that you should be able to make. These are what convinces me to purchase the book. The author is a well known designer and she is giving instructions on how to make her own designs. The book has page by page of great easy to follow instructions and detail diagrams to show how each step is done. There are plenty of color illustrations of each piece she has in the book. With the designs and instructions she has given, there are plenty of ways to lead your own imagination to make many more beautiful pieces for yourself or as gifts.
I love most of the projects in the books, they are beautiful, I am not crazy about her techniques for beadweaving, a person would be better off doing the beadweaving on a loom rather than off. The embroidery beading projects are also beautiful, but she has you do them onto card stock, when you should be doing them onto stiffy stuff (trade mark name). Over all I love the book and would highly recommend it for the designs I would just not recommend doing them exactly the way that she does them. Some of the designs remind me of the art deco era, I think this book has something for everyones taste. The photography is beautifully done, the directions are clear. I would highly recommend this book.
Fantastic book. Just what I was looking for! I've bought 4 other books and they didn't tell me anything about Bead weaving. I really don't see why I have to be prompted on what to say about any product. I liked the book, really!
