Heavy blade for waking woody brush. Very tip is blunt to prevent blade damage on unintentional ground strikes into rock. Sheath is flimsy and not suited for belt wear. Wooden handle seems to be of good quality but needs finger groves for better grip retention.

Bought this as a replacement for a Tramontina Machete which I had misplaced. New version came with a plastic handle which did not provide a satisfactory grip. Previous Tramontina with wood handle was better balanced and provided a better grip. Steel appears to be same quality as previous machete so I expect it to sharpen and wear equally well and better than cheap Chinese machetes.

This is a quality, inexpensive machete. It does need a good sharpening before you use it but I expected that. The poly handle is solid but a little slippery. I wrapped it with hockey stick wrap and now its great.

You won’t find a better machete for the price. Handle is hard polymer and textured to prevent slipping. Blade is 18” and sharp. Overall quality is good. Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed.
