Excalibur is worth watching for medieval era settings. The drama in it was used well to improvise its limited resources. Helen Mirren's skills are well exhibited in this movie. A lot of its ideas were based on notes from King Arthur's era
This is the quintessential Arthurian legend film. A few minor nitpicks keep it from being a total masterpiece, but it's still among my favorites. I bought the VHS just for the totally awesome cover art (the DVD's cover is okay, but nowhere near as epic).
This is a good midevil movie. It makes feel like magic is possible. It is funny how people back then believed in such silly things. To them it was real.
