The crew and cast are due the highest praise for their very excellent efforts that has resulted in this being a classic in the top 100 ever made movies. This is Ron Howards' best movie as yet for pure entertainment. It has it all, good vs evil, hero's, heroins, Faeries, elves, trolls, wizards, witches, warlocks, monsters, battling army's, ugly vs hansom, etc. Its all there. The very best movie ever combining the talents of the "small folk" with normal sized actors. One thing you will notice, Ron does like to use redheads for the "good". The sets, costumes, special effects, and very fine talent has come together to make a "classic" must have movie. I am especially glad to see our unlikely hero has become a full wizard and is now teaching at Hogwarts. I would recommend this for 12 or older. It has some very intense scenes that might not be appropriate for younger viewers.Read full review
We usually see heroes that are larger than life. After all, isn't bigger always better? I think Willow would disagree. Willow is small in stature but huge in heart. Willow's life intersects with humans and their strange ways. But without Willow, the humans will continue to live under the oppressive regime of Queen Bavmorda. The children of Willow finds a baby in the river. Little do they know the baby is Elora Danan, the prophesied baby who marks the end of Queen Bavmorda's reign. It is up to Willow and assorted others get the baby back to take the evil queen down. All during this, Willow achieves the very thing he wants the most in the world, to be a wizard. A great family movie with action and suspense and even a little romance thrown in.
Personally I love this movie. It mystifies me why it was a flop in the theaters. The story is engaging, exciting, and full of positive life morals. This was the first movie I ever watched with Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, and Warwick Davis. All of these fine actors did a marvelous job of portraying this lovely fantasy. It is also wonderful to know that Val and Joanne found love with each other outside of the big screen and married.

I loved this movie when it first hit the big screen, and I've worn out a couple of VHS copies. Now my family and I can enjoy the DVD ad infinitum. This is a thoroughly delightful movie: sorcerors, warriors, heroes, fairies, monsters, princesses, evil queens, adventuring babies, it has it all! Val Kilmer gives a solidly exciting pergormance as Madmardigan, the roguish warrior who helps Warrick Davis (Willow) return a lost baby to her home and in the process upset an evil sorceror queen and put the babe on the throne!
Loved this movie when I was younger, but couldn't find it anywhere. Found it here is great condition at a great price and was able to share this incredible movie with my son.
