Being a white youngster living in Birmingham in the 1960's made this not only informative but brought many memories of that time back to life. Many of the names and places were very familiar to me, which made this book even more meaningful. Since I was from Birmingham and the South much of what I remember hearing about MLK was not positive. As I grew older I began to see the greatness of MLK and what he helped accomplish, not just for African Americans but for all Americans. By listening to this book I have gained an even greater respect for him as a leader and as a man. I would recommend the audio version of this book even more than the written version because whenever a MLK sermon or speech was being referenced you hear the actual speech by MLK. To me this was much more meaningful than just reading it. Martin Luther King, Jr. was at the forefront of one of the greatest social and religious movements in the United States or maybe in the world. I highly recommend this audio book to anyone and everyone.Read full review
