Huck takes off down the Mississippi leaving behind a bunch of Missouri town folk thinking he's been murdered by some bad guys. Along the way he bumps into a run away slave wanting to ride the river south to the mouth of the Ohio River and then up the Ohio to freedom somewhere up north which don't make much sense since Illinois was a free state and it was just across the river from where he was at. Anyway they float past Kentucky and Tennessee and realize they have gone to far south and need to double back up the river to get to the Ohio River but while doing so a Riverboat sneak's up on them and destroys their raft and they find themselves on the banks of the Mississippi river (not sure what side) maybe Kentucky, Tennessee or Arkansas? Once they were stranded on land one of the escapades they find themselves in is when Two con artist devise a plan to use Huck and the slave in a scheme to extort gold from some local folk but Huck's conscience gets to bothering him and he spills the beans to the local law and the con artist get tarred and feathered. The scenery is beautiful and the story is believable. The only thing that bothered me about the movie is that the producers should have studied their geography of the area a little better, in some of the movie your not really sure just where your at along the River but I'm glad to own a copy of the movie.Read full review
An excellent Disney movie for the entire family! Huck can sure get into a lot of trouble!

they stick to the original story pretty close for the time they have. Only thing that bugged me was all the strife they made up between Huck and Jim...none of that ever happened in the book.
