A monumental achievement in film making; with excellent characters -- though a bit too many Greek names to try to keep track of. An engaging story based on fact. Everything was really above board. A few things that didn't sit well: the young Alexander with notable lipstick; the fact that Hephaistion was his male lover, and they never once kiss; the fact that Bagoas later shared his bed, but was far too feminine for my tastes; that Roxanne was more black, than middle-eastern exotic-looking. But all in all a very well made film, consistently engaging. And an ultimate tragedy, to win the whole world -- and yes the influence of that was outstanding to the culture of the known world at the time -- and end up not truly enjoying the greatness of his conquests.

This move has a great cast of actors / actresses. Angelina Jolie plays his mother is film and does a super job. The acting is great, the costumes are awesome and you will find it very interesting. Colin Farrel plays Alexander and Val Kilmer plays his father. Great movie to add to your collection.
