Both of my boys are tinkerers. They love taking things apart that break, like box fans or computers etc. I noticed this and thought, man it would be awesome to get them something where they could build electrical circuits and watch them work, but the Radio Shack route wouldn't be thought out ahead of time for me (and potentially dangerous, all of this is low voltage, like 6VDC max). A friend mentioned snap circuits, so I looked for it on Ebay, spent under $200 to get each of them a set, and boom, they love it. I'm an electrician, not an electronics technician, so we all learn building these circuits. It's also a good disciplinary tool because they like it so much. I would definitely recommend this product for someone that has kids that like to tinker.

This is a great way to learn electrical and electronic circuits. The snap together modules and instruction manuals make it easy to assembly circuits without the need to work directly with small electronic components. These kits would be great for first year electronic classroom training to expose students interested in electronics without all the soldering or breadboard experiments.

My husband was so excited to get this Kit. My 10 yo grandson was excited also and wanted to start building something right away. He has two other kits he and my husband have worked on and really enjoyed all the experiments they built. My husband can't wait to build the harder experiments.

It's worth the money but I wouldn't have been happy if I paid much more. Haven't gotten into the pc interface projects but so far you build a circuit and then many of the next projects aresimple little changes. I had the more simple spring board and bag of components sold years ago and like it better. I bought this for my 8yr old and the projects just aren't hands on enough since you get premade modules. The old spring system will hold up better than the thight snaps like you'd find on jeans. They are hard for kids to snap on and off without twisting the parts in a way that makes me cringe. I wish I would have bought one of the original sets I found instead but for the money got my $ worth

Very easy to use and contains quite a lot of cool stuff to build with. Feel like a kid again.
