You might have to be an ancient history buff & receptive to Durant's charmingly pedantic style to fully appreciate this volume, but I am both. I've just started it & my progress will be slow, but it's a great book. (The only other volume in the series I've read is "Caesar & Christ"--superb.) This copy is old but in very good shape. The price was more than reasonable & it arrived in good time.
