This isn't the exact item that I purchased. I bought the internation student version. So a warning to all who are going to do the same thing I did. The international student version does not contain the english units appendix F and some classes require the use of english units. Otherwise its a great textbook. This textbook is definantly intended for use by engineering students, as it has many great real world problems, and examples. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a basic understanding of thermodynamics and wants to learn more. It's text is straightforward and concepts can be grasped by even the most novice of thermodynamic students.
since i got the book, it looks different than the one on the photo. It may have the same chapters but not same length and content. the i realize that the book is RESTRICTED for sale only in INDIA, NAPAL, SER LANKA and BANGLADESH. not worth the money, this book is cheaper on other site.

First off, I have the SI, 7th edition, of this book. And I think it's a great book. I'm taking thermodynamics right now in college, and this one was most affordable. It's got all the tables and example problems that the U.S. version does, just not all the homework problems, and the English unit table in the back (table F). Those are the only two differences that i have seen so far. All-in-all, if you don't have the $150+ to shell out for the U.S. 7th edition, this is a pretty good alternative.
This was the first time I bought an international version of a book, and it was well worth what I thought was a "risk!" Be assured there's no risk! Everything I've gone through in class so far has been exactly the same as the teacher presents it (and therefore in the US version). I've heard that sometimes in international versions that the homework questions differ, but I've yet to experience this. Even if they do though, you can always get copies of the US version printed off. Get this and save money! Which brings me to the question, why are they charging us SO MUCH MORE in the US? I don't care if there's white collar wealth in this country, I'm still a college student who counts every penny in almost everything!
The international versions homework problems do not match up with the real hardcover version. I just went to my department library and scanned the problems from the hardcover book, so it wasn't too big of an issue for me, but I'm sure it will get a few people angry. Other than that I love the book, it is relatively simple to read for a scientific textbook. Very pleased.
