Please don't be fooled by my rating of "Average." If you're a Michael Bay fan, you'll give this a "Good" rating just for the Bay reason alone. The fun, just like all the other Michael Bay films, is still here. Unfortunately, the acting and the storyline leaves you "wanting." There are some good action sequences, some good dramatic scenes and even the typical Michael Bay humorous antics. Thankfully, there isn't a lot of dialogue; although, there is more than I expected for the period of the piece. I would never have paid full price for the Blu-ray, or DVD, for that matter (and extremely glad I didn't); however, Blu-ray is definitely the way to watch this flick. The quality that comes from the Blu-ray enhances the film and ultimately makes it worth watching, if only the one time. In conclusion, the movie is worth watching - at least once. Adding it to your libray? I extend to only die hard Michael Bay fans, or those interested in prehistoric movies.Read full review
You know how when you go to a cafeteria style restaurant and you see something you usually enjoy like lasagna? You get the lasagna and take a bite with fond memories of the last time you ate it in a real restaurant. When the first taste hits your tongue and all hopes of future meal enjoyment are flushed down the toilet....that would be the same sensation one gets after watching 10,000 B.C. It looks goods, has the potential to be great, you have fond memories of other movies in the same genre that were good, and then you watch it. It's edible but just barely. The movie had pretty good special effects and wasn't boring which is why I gave it a five. The dialog and acting were for the most part sub-par. The story didn't even make an attempt to suspend your disbelief. Forget about historical accuracy, it was ridiculous. If I were you, I would wait for someone else to pay for this theatrical version of cafeteria lasagna....and then watch it on their dime.Read full review
Sure, no big names in cast and simple plot, but I enjoyed this movie for what it was - a Roland Emmerich CGI spectacle.

Movie was much better than I anticipated. Special effects, characters, plot all fairly enjoyable.

This was a good movie! I would rate it 9 out of 10. Some viewers may have poor taste, but I have watched this at the theater, rented a couple times on regular dvd, seen it on HBO 3 - 4 times, and now I own the blu ray. For some reason or another, I just enjoy this movie. Whether its the action, the graphics, the massive creatures, the special effects, or just the story, I have not grown tired of it yet. Blu ray is definately better than the regular dvd especially the 5.1 surround sound home theater experience with a 42" HDTV. If you have a blu ray player, a home theater system, and an HDTV, this movie won't disappoint you. Do like I did! Shop around for the best lowest price with shipping. That way if you don't like it you can resell it without loosing lots of money.
