Not a bad movie, but the hype exceeds the actual horror. It's basically a remake of Tod Browning's FREAKS, and will best be enjoyed by those who seek a variation on the original. The ending is a stomach-turning gorefest, but the problem --- for those who enjoy that type of film --- is that the first two-thirds are devoid of gore and horror. FREAKSHOW is mostly a vintage tale of intrigue at a 1930s-era sideshow, spiced up with lots of crude language and explicit sex. It is noteworthy that, in FREAKS, all the human oddities were genuine, while in FREAKSHOW most are fake. The special features behind-the-scenes glimpses show that the filmmakers and actors had their hearts in the right places. The vintage-looking footage is very well done, and so is the explicitly gory ending. The constant profanity and sex is not necessary and just gets in the way. FREAKSHOW could have been a great tribute to FREAKS, or the bloodiest horror movie ever made. Simply merging the two does not quite work, but it's still worth seeing.Read full review

The reason I liked and bought this item is because it scared me. Not many horror movies that to me. That's reason why you watch horror movies is it? Anyway the acting may or may not be cheezy, but if hold off until the end you'll understand why it scared me. Excellent movie I recommend it anyone enjoys a good scare.
