UFC 49/50 Double Pack UFC 49: Unfinished Business This is one of the Best UFC events to date. Unfinished Business is the best way to describe this one. With their 2nd fight ending prematurely Belfort and Couture battle for a 3rd and final time, in one of my all-time favourite fights. Chuck Liddell also takes on Vernon White in a LHW Grudge match. The fight card is as follows: LHW Title Fight Vitor Belfort vs Randy Couture (Will go down as one of the best fights in history) LHW Co-Main Event Grudge Match Chuck Liddell vs Vernon White Undercard: Yves Edwards vs Josh Thompson (Quite possibly the best finish in UFC history) Karo Parisyan vs Nick Diaz (Two up and coming WWs do battle) Joe Riggs vs Joe Doerksen (Diesel vs El Derte) David Terrell vs Matt Lindland Justin Eilers vs Mike Kyle (Two HWs throw down) Chris Lytle vs Ronald Jhun Final Verdict: 5/5 Rent or Buy: BUY!!! Great fights and hilight reel finishes make this one of the better UFC events to own on DVD. UFC 50: The War of '04 Although the main event was supposed to be a rivalry match between Tito Ortiz and Guy Mezger, Mezger was forced to pull out due to a medical problem. Enter Canadian Patrick Cote, a young Canadian fighter making his UFC debut. Imagine thinking you are the first undercard fighter of the night, and then being thrown into the spotlight, and fighting for the title in the Main Event. Two fighters stepped up and fought opponents on very short notice. Travis Lutter was the second fighter, Lutter filled Cotes spot against Marvin Eastman. The fight card is as follows: Light Heavyweight Championship Bout Tito Ortiz vs. Patrick Côté (Props to Cote for stepping up) Middleweight Bout Rich Franklin vs. Jorge Rivera WW Championship Bout Matt Huges vs George St.Pierre (For the Vacant WW Title) Undercard Light Heavyweight Bout Travis Lutter vs. Marvin Eastman (Props to Lutter for also stepping up) Middleweight Bout Ivan Salaverry vs. Tony Fryklund Middleweight Bout Evan Tanner vs. Robbie Lawler Welterweight Bout Frank Trigg vs. Renato Verissimo Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy: Unless you collect UFC DVDs, this event is a one viewing needed DVD. Although the Cote/Ortiz fight was decent, the fact that no rivalry was settled makes this a 3/5. However, the Hughes/St. Pierre fight was great. If I could, I'd give this DVD a 3.5/5. Overall Final Verdict: 4/5 Rent or Buy: Both DVDs are worth buying. Save yourself some money and buy them in the 2-pack. PLEASE VOTE IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL. Thank you.Read full review
Randy is the greatest american mma fighter and this shows you why. 5 stars. If every Ufc was this good we wouldnt need to rate them. I love 49 it was no stop action from the first bell.
great fights!!!!! a lot of these fights were new to me some i knew who won but hadnt seen the fight even the reruns were exciting. a lot of exciting finishes both knock outs and submissions
It's the best sport on earth. I'm building a collection of past UFC events and there are absolute classic fights between these two dvd's. A must have for anyone that loves MMA
Since it's two for the price of one you should buy this for your collection. However if you buy these separate you won't be satisfied.
