Whether one agrees with the war in Iraq or not, this collection of letters from post 9/11 soldiers is an important reminder of the human beings on the front lines. It's a relevant look at war from first hand accounts, and it is an eye opening experience to read. Despite the controversy surrounding Michael Moore, the introduction explains that this books was NOT written by him; it was written by the men and women who have served in the middle east after the attacks on the USA in 2001. Compared to other books about war and history, this one is different because of the perspectives of military personel, the questions it raises, and the historic consequences to come. This is a book that will remain relevant well into the distant future.
I have a daughter in the service in Iraq, which is a war I do not totally agree with. I found this book at Barnes and Noble and read some of the letters in it and found some of them really hit home. I looked up the book on EBay when I got home and found it at a fraction of the cost. I would recommend this book to anyone. I think people take for granted what our soldier's really go through over there. Thank you Michael Moore.
