Once again, a terrific NY film shot in the late 70's. Marsh Mason is incredible. And Joan Hacket and James Coco were born to play the secondary roles: very real. If you can't stand honesty, don't watch this one. But, if you love flawed and talented individuals stumbling through life, buy this one. And listen to the dialogue. Especially the first 5 minutes, with Marsha in the therapist's chair. ...Kristy McNichols is genius as the forgiving daughter to Marsha's somewhat dried out alcoholic charactor-- and once again, Simon, the gifted, paints us a frescoe filled with charm, wit, comedy and tragedy. Watch these charactors interact. It is sheer magic. And doom. And redemption. Buy it, especially if you know an alcoholic or two--
Some may say Author Author but the Mason/McNichol team is a choreographed pair that has loving team work in the same way that the Damn Yankees had over the Dodgers. That is of course when in the second chapter Brooklyn Escaped From New York only to hear the cries "you oughta to be in pictures". In this one Kristy's personality gives the audience a true feeling of why some find closure either driving around an airport or dining at Tavern On The Green. Marc O'Brien Las Vegas
