The product works OK and looks alright. And the app seems to work fine. The problem I have is that these products are intended to make a light show, but they don't synchronize with one another. With 140 effects none of them match the ColorMotion lights effects. I have ColorMotion icicles from a couple years ago. One set has failed so I ordered a new set. As the new set wasn't going to arrive early enough I purchased some AppLights. Not only do the AppLights not have the same effects as the ColorMotion, the new ColorMotion icicles have a different pattern than the old ones! To top it off there is no response whatsoever from their support when logging a ticket.

This is one of the nicest bits of tech I've had the pleasure to run into. Unfortunately Gemmy is NOT good at describing which of their products do what, on their web site, which doesn't even list all of their products, including this one. So you'll have to go to Youtube and search for descriptions of their various products there. This item is quite solid for what it is. You can drop these off the top of your tallest stepladder and they'll likely keep right on working. Also very easy to use. Simply download the free application on your cell phone, then plug in the light string and the highly intuitive application encourages you to have fun playing with the possible lighting combinations. You can hook like 8 of them together. And there is something for every U.S. holiday here. Sorry Canadians, I don't see Boxing Day, on the list. But there's probably some color combination that will work. These lights so far are really awesome! Loving how I can change patterns from night to night easily and there are lots of different ways to make a light show.... Would be nice if they did a update that allowed more functionality such as random over cycle and timer mode would really be great.... ( However timers are cheap and easy to use these days...) Got mine for less than half of Home Depot price !
