This book is amazing; I could not put it down. My only dissapointment about the book is that mother and daughter do not re-unite. I wish it would have been so. The author has an incredible way of writing about each and every character's insight and culture. So impressive!
Highwire Moon is a powerful fiction about illegal immigration, and the possibility of what illegal immigrants go through. One can feel sorry for Serafina, one of the main characters, as she lost her daughter, Elvia, because of immigration. Though the book is very emotional and touching, I find Susan Straight's writing style to be somewhat confusing. The way she transition flashbacks confuses readers.
