Based on the popular book series by Walter Farley, ADVENTURES OF THE BLACK STALLION explores the bond between a young boy and his horse, Black. Black is among the fastest horses there is. Yet, equal to the horse's speed is his untamed nature. The horse can be calmed by only one boy, Alec (Richard Ian Cox, RV), who is the only person able to ride him. A spinoff from the 1979 children's film, this 1990s Family Channel series was loved by children during its brief run. Mickey Rooney reprises his role as Henry Dailey, the retired trainer who helps teach Alec the ropes. All 26 episodes of the second season are presented here.

Wonderfully entertaining!
I love this show & other reviews that say the actors weren't even French? Oh contraire! Marianne Falali was born in Casablanca, raised in S.France, the 1st season trainer Pierre, French, the star Ian Cox,q Canadian, & it was filmed in Canada, France & New Zealand. MickeyRooney of course American & perfect in his role. Still a great show to watch. Also re: the sensational over the top adventures were mentioned in reviews, well isn't that why we watch shows? To be entertained? Would be rather blah if the biggest mishap to befall them was a bad hair day like most of us. It is fast paced fun, family, good entertainment with good over evil, overcoming obstacles, making good choices, hard work & dedication. Its good for you!

Poor Writing change
Not as well written as Season 1. THe writers did away with all the season 1 characters. mom is only an imaginary voice at the other end of the telephone. The doctor and his daughter were replaced by a hardly likeable new character that is forced into the front of the action: a pushy stubborn french stable girl that refuses to go away or take no for an answer even after the repeated requests from the main characters to leave them alone. Her persistent stubborness to 'go to America' is 'rewarded' by the writers with an very unrealistic stowaway trip to the US. THe writers of the show seemed to force the viewers to accept her controversial role as one of the main characters. It definitely changed the dynamics of the show. It is no longer the original story of a boy, a fatherly trainer and his horse. Also the show became very repetitive. It seemed that in every other episode someone would break into the barn to steal the stallion, but better security measures would never be taken - Season 1 was more in accordance with the Original film that started it all.Read full review

I love that the movie did in fact come brand new no scratches and the entire show itself is entertaining and amazing! I was very happy to find the complete second season to this show and in brand new condition!

Adventures of the Black Stallion, Second season
My son has cerebral palsy and one of his great pleasures in life are movies with horses in them. He has watched Season 1 so many times, I knew that he would love Season 2 and Season 3. He is so excited. They are nice short films for the whole family.

I love it, I cannot wait for season 3 to come out. It was fun, exciting, and genuine entertainment, They do not make shows like this anymore. Episodes that make you want to stay up and watch and not tape to watch later.
