I saw a review of this video in a parent magazine and thought it would be good to try out. This video has 2 main workouts for women who are pregnant. It also has 2 smaller segments and 2 small bonus segments (I haven't done these two segments yet). There are a couple of other bonus features. One of which is working out without the verbal instructions. I've only had this video for a few weeks and have only used it twice. I'm not big on exercising but I wanted something to get me moving a little while I'm pregnant. So I like that the workouts are only about 20 minutes or so. I'm not very coordinated so I have trouble with one of the steps in the salsa segment. I like the yoga part pretty well. If you are an exercise person you may not find it very challenging but during pregnancy do you really need much of a challenge? I would like more variety in the workouts but then again doing the same move many times will help "get it down." There are several times that I wish there was more of an explanation of how to do a specific step or stretch. I'm not really motivated to get to this exercise program but then again I'm not really into working out. Just wanted to have something to do when I can't get outside. Overall though I would say this is a good workout.Read full review
There are two main components to this workout video, the Salsa cardio dance and the yoga fat burn. I really like the Yoga section, however, there is only one set of moves and you simply repeat them for a half hour. It gets rather repetitive, but it does target the right set of muscles. The cardio dance section is rather boring and didn't really do much for me personally. Overall this is a good, low intensity workout for any prego momma...just a little on the boring side. I was expecting more from the woman who created BUNS OF STEEL!
I love this video. I decided to purchase it because I liked the dance aspect of Salsa. It seemed fun and not to over done. When I went through the first part of the program (Salsa), I was SHOCKED at how much it actually works you. It's not extremely hard but the dance moves really get your heartrate up. The Yoga section is a nice compliment to the dance. The Yoga section is slow with nice easy relaxing stretches for you and baby. It also includes two additional sections for Labor and Delivery Prep and Total Relaxation. It is a well rounded workout! If you don't have time for the whole DVD you can mix and match the sections to get the perfect workout. I would highly reccomend this to any mother-to-be!
I love this item because it is easy to use it is broke down in to 20 workouts which is great becasue while pregnant you cant always do a full hour workout but every little bit helps. She is a great intructor she tells you it is okay that you don't or cant workout everyday. I would recommend this video to every pregnant woman looking to get in a quick 20 min. workout you feel good after doing it. This is just an awesome video. Very easy to follow easy to do not at all uncomfortable.
if you are used to working out at all, i wouldn't recommend this DVD...it's a pretty lame workout. i'm 6 months pregnant and have continued to workout throughout my pregnancy; and even though i recognize that i'm having to tone down the workouts a bit at this point, this one is TOO low key. you don't even get your heart rate up and it's really repetitive. during my pregnancy, i've been happy with various "firm series" workouts for lower-key, yet still great, workouts. bottom line: if you still want a decent workout while you're pregnant, don't buy this DVD.
