Living in the Great Lakes State of Wisconsin, we are fasinated by The Great Lakes. From the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald to the sinking of a ship full of Christmas Trees that were heading for Chicago. That ship went down in a storm off the shore of my hometown, Two Rivers. Every Year, tales are told about the comings and goings of the ships. Prior to taking Circle Tours around each of the lakes, We started in Manitowoc (just south of Two Rivers). You can take a car Ferry from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Luddington, Michigan. I searched for a book that would tell Tales of each of the Lakes, which are full of history. This book, while out of print, was perfect. It gave us the background for sites we were visiting. It was remarkable. And, it spent time with each of the Great Lakes states and each of the Great Lakes. It made our tours exciting. There is nothing to dislike in this item. It was perfect. I share this book with family and friends who are searching for the Tales and History of the Great Lakes.Read full review
I first found this at my local library and had to get my own copy. Fascinating narratives that you would have hard time finding on your own. I even forgive it for the editor not realizing they used the same article in two different sections!
