I like the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbooks better than the Betty Crocker because it fits our lifestyle a little better....the recipes are basic and simple. I decided to buy this because I gave one to my daughter when she married and during one of their moves from state to state (son-in-law was in the Navy) the cookbook was stolen. Since then my son-in-law has passed away, daughter came home and we finished raising my grandchildren (two girls). One starts collete this month and I said to myself "It is time to fine a replacement." This book has step by step instructions, great attention to detail. Loaded with tabs and easy to read. Cover is wipe clean ( a must in the kitchen ), and each chapter divider gives all the recipes for that particular chapter. It even has two Holiday sections. This one should last for many years to come and may be able to hand this one down to the great-grandchildren.Read full review
I received this cookbook first as a freeby by buying a Zippo Light. I thought it was so great that I went on E-Bay and purchased one for my daughter and my daughter-in-law. This is the best cookbook published by Better Homes and Gardens in a longtime. Contains important information for someone starting to cook as well as someone that has been cooking for a long time. I have a lot of cookbooks and this one is great.

This cookbook has everything you could ever want. It has excellent pictures and instructions on just about everything. This would be a great cookbook for a beginner cook or for someone that just wants to learn more about cooking in general. I have been cooking for many years and still found things in this cookbook that could help me.
