B/S fuel tank works great. Nice design and easy installation. Corrected my problem with poor lawnmower performance. OEM design insures correct installation w/o modifications required. Tank is metal and will last many years, highly durable for performance and reliability..

My lawn mower would not run with the carburetor I received. It is like the original carburetor and was no problem to install, but my mower would not run. I couldn't even get the carburetor to prime. The only way to get the mower to start was to use starter fluid. It would then run only as long as the starter fluid lasted. I removed the new carburetor twice to check for problem and ensure there was no problem with install. I then removed your carburetor and installed my old carburetor using the gasket and diaphragm that came with your carburetor. My mower then started and run great. After several days it still starts and runs good.

This was the correct part # for my B&S motor on my lawn mower but had to drill out the throttle hook up on carb. Also the threaded mounting hole is metric and the OEM threaded hole was std thread. Neither of these were a real problem except it was not a direct remove and replace job. Everything come out fine the lawn mower fired right up and ran good. Just a heads up you may need to do a little extra work.

I was not able to find the exact replacement carb and tank for my troybilt sickle mower but this was an inexpensive way to breath new life into an unusable piece of equipment that would not hold gas. It fit perfect but was quite complicated to adapt the governor linkage to make it work as intended. Engine ran a little rich but started easily with the non-choke primer method.

I bought this tank for a B&S 550 Series 158cc motor. Several things of slight adjustment, but all went well. FIRST, had to enlarge the hole on the fuel throttle on new tank which was too small for linkage. Just a slight two drill bits up in size on the plastic throttle did the trick.SECOND, I had to use my electric sander to trim the bracket that runs from the motor to the gas tank. Just needed to trim small area near the bolt holding tank since new tank is a little larger. Quick easy fix. THIRD, the bolt from old my tank was a little larger than the new one so started the lolt threads straight, added little 3&1 oil and worked perfectly. FOURTH, there is a Phillips head screw in the gas tank that will not allow bolt to thread in. Removed screw, worked like a champ. FINALLY, added fuel and pumped primer bulb. First try I didn't prime bulb enough and it didn't start. When I primed until gas sprayed into carburetor the mower started like a new one. Overall a great purchase. Although on my mower not a perfect fit like some, after maybe 3 min adjustment worked like OEM. I recommend this tank, and will buy this tank again if needed.Read full review
