Fabulous DVD! Dennis (Jay North) is at his rowdiest in this his first season, tormenting his devoted parents (Gloria Henry and Herbert Anderson), driving Mr. Wilson (Joseph Kearns) up the wall. Dennis was still a good boy (just hyper). I watched this when I was in elementary school (reruns in the afternoon) in the 1960's. All these shows from the first season run :25 each and have the original TV theme music. The DVD has 5 discs in a foldout-style case. HIGHLY recommended if you're a major fan of Dennis and his friends! If you haven't ever experienced "Dennis The Menace", you're missing out on some classic TV when TV WAS quality! The 1950's come alive again with Dennis!
they don't make good tv show's like this anymore .both picture and sound is real good disc 5 when dennis was on the donna reed show very funny plus has interview margaret jeannie russell & alice mitchell gloria henry as they look today they talk about doing the show.watched all of disc 1&5 this is a very good show never a dull moment waiting for season 2 you can see the reruns on ktla 5 los angels on sat& sun morning around 6am dishnetwork carrys this channel
So great to have this complete series. They do not make comedies like this anymore, clean wholesome fun with stable loving families. What we so badly need today.

I was very happy to hear that Dennis was available on DVD. I have three VHS tapes full of Dennis the Menace shows that I recorded when TV Land aired them several years ago. Jay North and I were born only 11 months apart and watching Dennis and his friends was just like the neighborhood in which I grew up. My neighbors didn't include single women like Mrs. Elkins or Miss Cathcart but we did have a grumpy old Mr. Wilson. I have enjoyed watching this first season of Dennis again and I am ready for the rest of them to become available.
