One of the best novels ever written, and richer than plum pudding. An American classic in its unadulterated, uncensored, un-nicified, unpecked-at form. I missed having this book for my own (and haven't been able to find it in Toronto libraries or used book shops), so I found a nice, clean paperback, very cheap on ebay, delivered quickly and read in one sitting. As for the story itself, the characters are real and unforgettable. Told in first person by Huck Finn, recalling misadventures down the Mississippi river with the mindsets at the time, it really is a slice of history, but one that you won't mind reading. You may hear the speech as you are reading it, and if you read it out loud, I don't blame you. It's a fun read, and deep and full of hidden nooks and crannies as one of those caves in the Ozarks.Read full review

I bought this book because I was looking for reading material to interest my young cousin. He has rally been enjoying this adventure book. I think this book is excellent for young boys. Compared to similar books. this one stands out at the top!
This is a classic. I think everybody has to read it. We will learn about thing it happened in that era. How life ans episodes were lived. I'm glad my son's school chose this book for this year.
This book was a required reading for my daughter's High School AP English class. She enjoy's the story though she had already read this story several times before. The Dover edition read was required.
