Wonderful Southern modern gothic
Based on a true story. Highly descriptive, revolving around the art and architectural community of Savannah Georgia; architectural description puts you right there; characters are all well-drawn, intriguing, and with that intelligence that accompanies great individuality. It's got it all: modern Southern Belles, dandies, workmmen, voodoo, and the artistic gentry. Highly recommend: the descriptions stick with you, become a part of one's own experience. Film was a good adaptation of this book (how could you miss with Kevin Spacey). However, read the book.

I felt that this story, was a bit slow, to get into, but once you did it became a good listening book.
