Purchased this starter set for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. The "fantasy" stories keep the child's attention where they want to read more and are great for promoting good reading skills. Will definitely purchase the next set in the series.

My son is almost 5 years old and has been learning to read. His intrest in books is really growing. We discovered these books and he has really enjoyed joining Jack and Annie on adventures in the magic tree house. Each night i read about half of one of these stories, so needless to say we have purchased additional stories in this series. We have also found that our local library carries many of the books in this series to fill in the gaps in our collection. I am really excited about his growing love for books that these books have helped initiate.
Love these books. Lots of adventure and mystery for young readers. Each book visits a different time period in chronological order, so the reader gets glimpses of what life was like in that era. They are suspenseful enough that my daughter often reads 3 or more chapters at a time! I believe they are second grade level, but my first grader loves them!! They are a wonderful first chapter book set because there are frequent illustrations ~not quite so overwhelming! If your child isn't ready to read them on their own, they are a fun family bedtime read!!
I'm using this series as a read aloud for my 5, 8, and 10 year old at bedtime and they're all enjoying it.
