In this and the other volumes of this series of books, Rabbi Kolatch explains the various Jewish customs that Jews keep. He brings various reasons -Biblical and Talmudic- based upon Jewish sources and anyone who is interested in converting would be extremely rewarded in reading these books. It's easy reading plain english, and not esoteric. Non religious Jews who wish to know more about their heritage will be amply rewarded as well. A win win situation for all those who need to know more about the great Faith of Judaism from which all the other Monotheistic religions sprouted from.
If you want to know Why Jews believe the way they do this is the book . It explains Jewish rituals, Laws belief it does not leave you wondering it tells you Why :) I do recommend this book so that one could better understand Judaism.

I was looking for a book that gave some history on Jewish holidays. Why they worshipped a certain way or why they did certain things in order to apply some things to Christianity and explore the Jewish roots of Christianity. Book has some interesting info like why a bride stands to the right of the groom. Book is OK even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.
