What more can you ask. I enjoy the fact that this does everything I wanted to do in a small foot print. Running a small business can be challenging. By having a duplex function with optional paper trays. It's prefect for printing manuals, letters, map quest. All in one single page makes it easy to handle documents. Letter quality and picture is excellent. Best one I've ever used. I compared it with Brother, Xerox and Dell which I have owned in the past and present. This one might have inferior "paper" specs but letting my eyes being the judge, 2300D blows all of them away. I have two of these and the original one, I've had since 2004 and had no problems.
I purchased this as a replacement for the exact same printer I'd owned for 8 years and printed over 164,000 pages on before it broke.... Its and excellent printer and remanufactured cartridges are very economical. Most places state it isn't Windows 7 compaible but Windows 7 immediately installed generic drivers when it was connected via the USB. One cavaet, for some reason, after Windows 7 goes into hybernate, then wakes up, it doesn't recognize the printer until you reboot. I haven't found a solution for that but love the printer enough to ignore that as a major problem. Any print jobs waiting immediately print upon rebooting. Windows 7 has an update that fails every time I try to install it that could possibly be the fix for the problem. You may also want to install an additional 128mb memory module, available for approximately $8 on eBay, if you tend to print a lot of large jobs... it allows 2 modules. Not necessary for most home users. eBay also seems to have a number of addon paper trays used at very reasonable prices. I would recommend the additional tray. I tranferred a 500 sheet capacity tray from my old printer. I haven't found a comparably priced printer that is as durable or as economical to use. Most printers come with combinations of drums and toner that quickly become quite expensive when compared to the generaic toner cartridges available for this printer.Read full review
HP 2300 Printer These printers are the work horses we depend on daily they just keep printing, We have had 3 units they will print all day, just like timex they keep on ticking, I bought some spare printers on e-bay just incase but have not had to use them yet. The toner is very in-expensive about $20 most of the time. We get an avrage of 6,500 pages out of a cartridge. All said and done we can print for 1 cent a page concerding we are all solar in the middle of Maine.
This is my first time with eBay, not good experience. I didn't know the printer I bought is "for parts" all along I thought it's a refurbished and I didn't know that it is bidding. It's not a good experience. The product is jamming when I made a copy and was told it was sold for parts, next time have it highlighted that it is for parts.

Very good printer but still can't beat the awesome HP LaserJet 1320 for sharpness. The hp 2300 has guides for envelopes and labels where the HP 1320 doesn't have.
