The Dragonball series can be found everywhere these days. Even though the series has been over for years here in the US, the craze is still big. A new movie is to be released next year, and there's a possibility that Dragonball Z may be redone with HD quality picture and sound in America, along with filler being cut out. Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension was a game that we, unfortunately did not get here in the US. After the major failure of Harmony Gold's Dragonball dub, DBZ was decided to be kept in Japan. The only game we ever received while the series was going on in Japan was Dragon Power for the NES. Well, Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension was a hidden gem from Japan. It was the last in the US DBZ fighting games, the Budoken games being the predecessors. This game has actual combos and great special that are done Street Fighter style. Yeah, it has a Street Fighter feel to it. The characters move in a similar fashion, but one thing that is awesome about the actual gameplay is that if you press both the Y and B buttons, you start charging and you regain energy. Depending on how far you are in the story, you have more energy to lose and gain. If you get under 80, you're able to do a Desperation attack. Son Goku's has him doing a punching combo, then he turns Super Saiyin 3 and throws a spirit bomb. Very cool stuff. If you're a fan of the series, i suggest picking it up, because I don't think we'll ever see it here in the US without Ebay's help.Read full review
