I bought this book for a class and decided to read ahead so I read it during my Christmas vacation. It was a great read especially for a college class. It is about a boy who discovers he is really black. A large majority of the book is set in Muncie, which was also neat because that is where I go to school (at Ball State University). I highly reccomend this book if you are interested in this sort of account or even if you arent because it is very well written and gives a new perspective on things.
I read this 20+years ago. I wanted my teenagers to read it, it was not available at county library, so I bought 2 copies. Worth re-reading.

This was a very good short bio of his formative years that molded him into who he is today.
