I am a major David Sedaris fan. His CD's are ten times funnier than the actual books because he can read the hell out of them. He has a great sense of timing, is a wicked mimic, and can replicate an accent. His rendition of his brother's southern speech and mannerisms is as funny as it gets. It is worth buying a Sedaris CD of a book that you have already read just to hear the words in his own voice. Too much. I spend a heck of a lot of time on the road, and have an unfortunately intense kind of job. Listening to Sedaris to and from work is a riot. I have caught other drivers look at me in alarm as I am laughing my head off, alone in the car, stuck behind an overturned semi on the NJTP. Now, Sedaris is a bit nasty. Plenty of sexual references, references to his homosexuality, and nothing is sacred. Not the thing to play in the minifan on the way to soccer camp, unless your kid is a lot like...Sedaris. But I love his stuff, and will not be satisfied until I own everything he's written and read on CD, and will then still want more. Buy him. Play him. Enjoy him.Read full review
One of the best audio books I've heard. This isn't one long story, it is about 30 short stories, some very funny! I would definitely recommend this one for people who want to listen for about 15 minutes at a time.
loved the book. Some of it reminded me of of growing up and some of the funny things that happened and the things we kids did. His voice made it even more funny cause you could just feel the emotion...
