Without going into much detail this is funny for people with an awareness of K Smith's body of work and general vocab, but not great for the first timer. If you are already familiar with the previous DVD releases then this is more of the same, with a lot less funny material (kinda like his latest effort Clerks II). Even though Kevin takes questions from the floor, he has somehow lost the spontanious 'say the first thing that comes to mind' touch that made the first release so endearing. Also, he really seems to have his act down so the banter seems much more polished, and the show suffers from it. All that being said, we should cut him some leeway - I mean he's just talking about his life, and was bound to run out of funny stories at some stage... 'An Evening with Kevin Smith' is by far the funniest, and should be your first foray into the Q & A material.Read full review
Let's be honest, if you are up to viewing Threevening you are part of the Hardcore fan club that continues to grow for Kevin. This is unlike the previous 2 documentaries, as it really revolves around celebrating Kevin, his existance and his work since the beginning. The only spoiler alert I would give is (***Spoiler**)Jason Mewes doesn't make the typical suprise appearance in this one as he did in the first 2. Kevin is more reflective of his work, talks openly about how success has affected him and his choices moving forward. He still reveals all for the fans questions, great stories are still there, love hearing about the "real" Bruce Willis behind the scenes in Live Free, Die Hard. Just another great must have for any Silent Bob fan!
This dvd is just as good as its two predecessors. My husband loves Kevin Smith. In fact...he kinda resembles Kevin as well. I bought this for my husband since my husband has the Kevin Smith collection. Even though Kevin is a little long winded with his stories & gets off track, he really knows how to relate to his audiences & show the audience that he is just a normal Joe like the rest of us...putting on his manpris one leg at a time. If you're an avid Kevin Smith fan, I recommend all three Evening With Kevin Smith dvds.
If you love the man, you'll love this latest Q & A video. Great stories about his dogs, meeting Bruce Willis, the making of Clerks II and Die Hard 4, and a ton of added material as well.
Another excellent Q&A with Kevin Smith having more and more great stories to tell. I hope these sets never end they are great
