Here's a film of US national Civil Rights historical significance. This VHS includes ALL of the major public speeches made by Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. If you weren't old enough to ever see & hear King making a speech, this VHS will likely reveal to you why the US Civil Rights movement was so greatly inspirited by this man. Although I've read, heard, viewed, reveiwed & studied all of King's speeches & known writings & remarks, I still get gooseflesh every time I listen to him deliver a speech. Dr. King had a mesmerizing charisma; a soul-reaching way of pronouncing & emphasizing words. He'd come to a podium with written speech before him & never look at it again after he laid it down. I wonder how many times he didn't say a word he had prepared to? King spoke from his soul. That's how he was able to reach into our souls. He said in several speeches that the objective of the Civil Rights movement was reconciliation, by way of changing hearts & minds. But something far beyond that happened. People's souls were transformed. Our spirits were raised & Dr. King inspired us with a new kind of hope. That hope was his dream. His dream is still alive. It is for the whole world to become one "Beloved Community." It's impossible to view this film without being emotionally moved, if not, spiritually uplifted.
