I have bought several copies of this book on e-bay after originally purchasing through the Methodist bookstore at a conference. The premise of an emphasis on grace and love versus "hell and damnation" was very appealing. I have been seeking a different, non-exclusive path of spirituality and this book has made such a difference and began a spiritual journey to a closer relationship with God. I give copies of the book to friends and we have wonderful discussions. I gave one to my minister and his wife....and began a whole paradigm shift in their lives as well as mine. It is easy to read, thought provoking and spiritually freeing. The quotations from other sources led me to purchase other books with similar themes, but this book "started it all", so to speak..and the journey continues.
This book is well written in an easy storytelling manner that explains the authors' views of God. I loved it.
People believe what they want to believe and it is obvious with this book. They point out some flaws in Christians which we should be aware of. A Christian should act in love towards others. My problem is that these guys seem to make up a belief system with no foundation for it at all. The only basis these guys use for their beliefs is the bible which they say time and again they don't believe is true.
