The knife is as expected. Built for a lifetime of work. It did take a good bit of sharpening -as well as removing what appeared to be epoxy or some type of very hard adhesive from the first 3/4" or so of the tip- before the knife was to my liking. The sheath is heavy duty and made out of some layered synthetic material. Almost seems like really thij tire rubber or something. Its black and rubbery on the outside, and has a fiber layer sandwiched in there. My disappointment lies in the belt loop. It was very cheaply and quickly done, at the expense of my favorite custom made belt. I honestly should have known better than to try it out on a belt with a lot of sentimental value. But the "belt loop" is two slits cut onto the back side of the sheath. So you just feed your belt through there. Leaving your belt on the inside of the sheath.... exposed to the now razor sharp edge of the very large knife you are trying to put into a rather snug sheath... needless to say, I would recommend a cheap belt or a new sheath. Also, I wasnt aware when purchasing the knife, but the tip is sharpened on both sides, like a dagger, for the first 2 or 3 inches.Read full review
