I bought this movie because I love the Gamera Series from 1995-1998 and I'm a huge fan of blu-ray. I was excited to see this movie at a good price and purchased it without hesitation. I was VERY disappointed to find out, though, that the specs from the distributor, Mill Creek Entertainment, were inaccurate. The disc does NOT have a Japanese Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack with English Subs, as advertised. It has ONLY a DTS HD Japanese Soundtrack and features a Dolby Digital 5.1 Sountrack only on the Horrific English Dubbed version. If you have DTS HD on your Home Theatre Amplifier, then it's not a problem. I personally, am not a huge fan of DTS, and still have a VERY expensive 5.1 Dolby Digital amp. Imaging my surprise when I put in the disc and there was no D.D. 5.1 option for japanese with English Subs and I had to watch the films with the crummy dubbing. The picture quality on the disc is fine, but really not a lot better than the standard DVD upconverted to 1080p. I contacted Mill Creek Entertainment by E-Mail to tell them of my disappointment with the disc, and they ( of course ) didn't return my E-mail. Mill Creek has announced they they will release "Gamera 3: Revenge of Irys" sometime in 2011. If the film will be released in the same disappointing version as this set, then I'll be saving my money.Read full review
Very happy with item purchased. No issues with merchant (I might even buy another copy for a friend if it's still available by the time I order). As for the content of the Blu-ray (i.e., the movie), my only disappointment was that the movie wasn't remastered or upconverted to HD. For all I know, this is just an ordinary DVD and packaged in a Blu-ray case by the manufacturer. These 2 Gamera movies were made and released back in the mid-90s so don't expect too much of some of the visual effects. At least the visual effects were a bit better that the Heisei era Godzilla movies that came out during that same period.

We love “B” monster movies. My Gson love Godzilla and Gamara. . He wants me to find the older version of Gamara as well. He used my remote to find the menu that was not on the start up info. Then found English.

Two action packed titles starring Gamera the flying turtle which actually is a trilogy of the Heisei series brings us very good transfers of both films that are sure to excite any monstergoer. The films both are in HD with 1080P resolution and are the best the films have ever come out in with both the Japanese and English dubbed versions. While the third film is probably the best of the three you won't go wrong with the first two which are grouped together for your entertainment here. Millscreek Entertainment has done a great job bringing out these films on bluray with a good value while enterataining those with giant monster action and engaging characters at a price that is affordable. Buy it!
