I have been researching the Hebrew roots of the Bible for sometime and I depend on what Christians call the Old Testament to understand the New Testament. The Hebrew scriptures are far more reliable and will confirm what is of God in the new testament. They will also help weed out interpolations that could have been added by the sometimes dubious history associated with the new testament. A good example is Romans 13:1, which seems to command unquestioning obedience to authority. The books of Jeremiah and Isaiah are contrary to such a position and warn people that they will perish if they follow ungodly leaders, including those in spiritual authority. The print is a little small in the Bible and one has to do some research on the Hebrew words in the text, which becomes interesting after you have done it and understand why you do it; some words are best expressed in the Hebrew. The OJB also has the new testament seen through Hebrew eyes though I am a little skeptical if it endorses the trinity doctrine...Read full review
