This is a wonderful, little book, easy to carry with you, not big and bulky. This book is extremely useful, with its beautiful pictures. The first time dog owner will love the information which allows the reader to compare and contrast the various dog breeds, which are divided into the seven American Kennel Club groups. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend this book to anyone like myself who loves dogs. I am certain this will be a valuable tool for me when I teach dog care and training for my 4-H members.
I bought this book for my local animal shelter, to help the workers correctly identify the stray dogs that come in. The pictures of each breed are large and clear, and the descriptions are concise and informative. My only regret is that more breeds are not included. Inexplicably some fairly common breeds are not mentioned at all, which compromises the value of the book.
